Héroda, "he who comes from the night", is one of the seven primordial Dragons of Tirakan, created by the Wayfarers at the end of the First Age. Like his siblings, Héroda is a divine, immortal being who keeps his distance from the mortal world. He only appears in rare moments when the balance of creation itself is threatened. Unlike Tar the Brave or Aspersia, whose fall into the Maw is legendary, Héroda avoids any form of direct influence. His existence is a constant in the shadows, a silent guardian of the world's darker sides.
Héroda is best known for his connection to darkness. Where other Dragons dwell on the peaks or in the vastness of the sky, Héroda is drawn to the deep canyons, silent caves and endless nights of Tirakan. His appearance is not that of a destroyer, but that of a protector. When he appears, it is in times of greatest need - and always with a clear, relentless purpose.
Héroda embodies the unapproachable authority of the Dragons in its purest form. Mortals fear him not because of his physical power, but because of his aloofness and incomprehensible standards. His appearance is seen as a harbinger of profound upheaval, and his silent presence leaves a void that fills mortals with fear and awe. No song praises him, no prayer invokes him - he remains a shadow that does not live for the world, but watches over it.
