In some Tirakan realms, a large forestry industry is beginning to be established. The reason for this is the dwindling of the forests resulting from ruthless overexploitation.
The terodar has special characteristics that make it ideal for forestry. For one thing, as a deciduous tree, it has a wood that is not coarse-grained and soft like that of conifers, and it also has a growth rate that can easily compete with that of conifers. After just twenty years, it reaches a height of more than ten steps and a trunk circumference of one step. Its bark and its chequered leaves have a slight grey tinge and always look as if they are dirty. This is why the terodar is rightly considered one of the ugliest trees. Its wood can be recognised at a glance by its very light colour.
