Katrine was born during a period of instability in the Kingdom of France. Her parents lived in poor conditions in Normandy, and she grew up in a rural village.

Céline Millet was recruited shortly before the founding of the Nexus. Her knowledge of Florentine bookkeeping and her aptitude for numbers enabled her to quickly assume a key role in the young organization.

Ella-Rose is a long-time associate of Jérôme. She has known him since their school years, and when he approached her with the idea of the Nexus, she was immediately convinced.

Henry Pascal had always been a dedicated scientist. After completing his degree at the Université de Paris, he was unable to find a suitable position. Jérôme Dutrout then approached him with the offer to work for an organization under royal authority. In this way, Henry became the first scientist of the Nexus.

Vincent joined the Département through personal connections. He had long moved within influential Parisian circles, and as plans for the Nexus became more concrete, he exerted influence through his associate, Céline Millet.

Oliver Nesselrode was born in Paderborn in 1660. His father fought in the Thirty Years’ War and returned home wounded. Despite reservations, Oliver joined the Imperial Guard, but was later dishonorably discharged.

Jérôme Dutrout, an agent of NEXUS and an officer, was later designated to become commander of the Dante Station.
